Mulayam Singh
Yadav leader of Samajwadi Party says that if Lokpal bill is passed the elected
Members of Parliament will come under the rule of Daroga (police officials) .
MPs will be arrested by Daroga on any issue. As such his party did not vote in
favour of Lokpal Bill in Lok Sabha. He further says that his party did not like
to vote against the bill because his party did not want to support the cause of
BJP. His party does not understand the pros and cons of the Lokpal Bill, his
party does not want to propose any amendment in the bill to make it effective
and strong, his party does not even want to pursue the line of action of
Bhartiya Janta Party and his party is not at all bothered of pain of common men
who are real victim of cancer of corruption prevalent in the system.
After all
what for they are elected by voters?
Are they
meant to cry and cry to befool voters on Lollipops of some type of quota or the
other only?
Do they
think that their boycotting of Lok Sabha on crucial issues like Lokpal Bill
serves the purpose they are meant for?
By not
participating in discussion and debates, they cannot uphold the Supremacy of
Parliament for which they usually plead. They are indirectly supporting a wrong
bill by boycotting voting in Parliament.
Lalu Prasad
Yadav leader of RJD is almost of same opinion. Lalu is not made minister in UPA
government and hence his purpose is to blackmail UPA on every occasion and try
to negotiate for berth in cabinet. He and his party neither whole heartedly
supports not oppose absolutely Lokpal Bill. Lalu says that the Sarkari Lokpal
Bill is brought in haste by ruling party under pressure of Team Anna. He cannot
support such weak and Not-well-prepared bill because it is brought under
pressure of Team Anna and because Team Anna is indirectly backed by BJP and
RSS.
Lalu and MPs of his party do not have any view either
in favour of Lokpal Bill not any valid opinion against it. They as such thought
it better to boycott voting on Lokpal Bill in Parliament. These leaders do not
have right to talk of Supremacy of Parliament. They are completely dishonest
and wrong in saying that framing of bill and act is the duty of elected MPs and
not people of India crying on Road under the banners of Team Anna. When MPs are
not in a position to either vote in favour or vote against it that too without
any valid reason, they do not deserve to be MP. It is the faulty pattern of
election that such leaders are elected by voting. Unfortunately people of India
do not have right to recall such useless and selfish leaders and they have to
bear with them for five years and at least till next election.
Mayawati,
leader of Bahujan Samaj Party wants that CBI should not be under the control of
the government. She says that proposed Lokpal bill is too weak to support. Her
MPs in Parliament did not oppose the bill wholeheartedly , rather killed most
of allotted time in praising Mayawati or accusing Congress Party or BJP or SP.
It appeared as if the MPs of BSP was campaigning for her party in Parliament.
They were least bothered of merit and demerit of Lokpal.
BSP do not
want to go in line with BJP because election in near in her state. If she
opposes the bill , she will be blamed that she is supporter of so called
communal party like BJP. Her party MPs
are not bothered of problem faced by common men due to rampant corruption but
they are concerned how to stop Congress Party and Rahul Gandhi taking credit of
passing Lokpal Bill as desired by Team Anna .
Is it desired
role of MPs in Parliament?
Are such MPs
doing justice with their role of opposing misrule of ruling party?
Are they
upholding the supremacy of Parliament by boycotting the Parliament and by not
taking part in voting on crucial bill for which mass movement is going on in
the country?
More or less
similar is the approach of MPs of left parties. They oppose Team Anna and say
it is the duty of Parliament to make act and Team Anna cannot dictate MPs how
to frame laws. The message they want to convey is that Member of Parliament can
bag votes like beggars begging for alms, organize rallies during one month
period of election to beg votes from common men, they can fight their election
battle on road but as soon as they become Members of Parliament they are master
of common men for five years, they are dictator of terms of public movement,
they are owners of Parliament and common men or Team Anna is not more than baggers.
They say
that Lokpal bill can be discussed in Parliament only. But when the occasion
came to discuss the same, they avoided it. They did not propose any substantial
amendment to make the bill strong. Primary issue is to place arguments in
favour of or against the bill and propose proper amendment so that people of
India may understand their intention. Ruling party accepts the proposed
amendment or not is a secondary issue .Obviously MPs of left parties equally
failed to play their desired role and they have no moral right to talk of
Parliament.
Elected
Members of Parliament should keep in mind that they are voted to enter in
Parliament to legislate laws which may provide safety, growth and good image of
the country. They are not meant to play Kabaddi in Parliament and always think
of winning the battle from their opponents. They are elected to ponder over
whether any bill serves the purpose of common men or not but they unfortunately
always think whether credit will go to BJP or Congress Party. Supporting or
opposing any bill in Parliament should be based on ideology, principles and
ultimate gain and loss to Nation. Unfortunately in the name of democratic
principles or Supremacy of Parliament , Members of Parliament in general are
playing dirty game of weakening MPs of other side.
Are they
honestly using the precious time and valuable platform of Parliament to give
comfort to their voters who elected them?
Congress
Party is blaming BJP of not supporting Constitutional amendment bill on Lokpal
but not ready to accept the suggestion given by BJP to keep state government
free to legislate the same as per their comfort in their state assemblies.
What
was the harm in introducing Constitutional amendment under article 252 as
suggested by BJP and discarding the idea of making Lokpal mandatory for state
government to pursue the same line as suggested by Central Government by
invoking article 253 of the Constitution?
State
Assemblies are as important as Parliament. After all Lokayakta in state like Bihar
and Karnataka are doing well against corruption.
Why Kapil
Sibal of Congress Party want to dilute the intensity of Lokayukta of Bihar and
Karnataka?
Is it because the same is framed by Non Congress Party and because
Nitish Kumar’s popularity in Bihar and all over the country is consistently going
up and up?
Actually a
few flatterers in Congress Party are bent upon keeping Sonia Gandhi and Rahul
Gandhi happy. When Rahul suggested for making a Constitutional status to Lokpal,
every MP of Congress Party who were originally against Lokpal started playing
the flute of Constitutional status to Lokpal bill in tune with Rahul’s musical
tune and for this purpose without even consulting allied parties like Trinamool
congress they hurriedly proposed Constitutional amendment bill in Lok Sabha and
eventually got defeated.
Congress
Party could have given due values to the dissenting note of Members of Standing
Committee before bringing Lokpal Bill in Parliament. It is unfortunate that
Members of Parliament belonging to ruling party always treat the MPs of
opposition parties as enemy of the Nation. Ruling MPs are usually of the
opinion that they are the only well wishers of common men but duly elected MPs
belonging to opposition parties are not well wishers.
Similarly
MPs of opposition parties are mostly opposing what the ruling party MPs speak. MPs
not act as per their conscience but act as per the orders of High Command of
their parties. MPs usually push the button in time of voting in Parliament in favour
or in opposition to any Bill in Parliament not on the merit or demerit of the
bill but as per the whims and fancies of a few members of High Command Club.
They act as per party whip and not as per their views and conscience. In such
position all talks of Parliamentary democracy is simply nonsense and Bakwas.
In brief
none of elected Member of Parliament is serious on the value and urgency of
strong Lokpal Bill to fight against menace of corruption. For MPs, democracy is
of the MP, by the MP and for the MPs. They act as if they are God and people of
India are just beggars. They can give reservation to minorities without any
demand from minorities, they can demand and allow loan waivers and they can
propose fresh quota for some group or the other or they can suggest the change
in the name of any town or state but they can never think for the welfare of
common men without nay bias to caste or community.
Lastly I hope
people of Media particularly TV media will keep these ideas while organizing debate
on TV calling various members of their choice and stop misleading viewers.
To treat the cancer of corruption, congress party is prescribing the medicine which is given to cure cough and cold. Still they are talking of strong medicine, strong Lokpal to cure cancer of corruption.
ReplyDeleteCongress party has deliberately drafted Lokpal Bill which turned the long aspired Bill as the most controversial Lokpal bill. They gave the shape to Lokpal in such a way which may hurt the sentiments of various parties and even its own allies so that it may get an opportunity to put entire blame of failure of Lokpal Bill on MPs of opposition parties and encash its effort of introducing Lokpal in forthcoming election. Congress party has willfully introduced the condition of quota in the bill to create confusion and chaos in the Parliament in the same way they sidelined Women reservation bill. Now people may demand Quota in selection of Governors and other key posts of public sector undertakings.
Entire exercise on Lokpal was done only to show Rahul Gandhi that Congress Party is behind Rahul Gandhi wholeheartedly. MPs of Congress Party in general are servants of Sonia and Rahul and not at all that of common men who voted them to power. They never like Ramdeo or Team Anna. They tried their best to torture and suppress the followers of Team Anna and Ramdeo. These MPs normally move and pass time among corporate and rich class lobby and hence not aware of pain of common men.
A few flatterers who are having Doctor Degree in Flattery usually hijack entire Congress Party. And it is these hardly ten MP who move always around Sonia and Rahul and it is under their direction and guidance Bill for Lokpal was drafted. It was a preplanned strategy of Managers of Congress Party to draft Lokpal bill in such a way which could serve dual purpose, one to please Rahul Gandhi and another to puncture Team Anna movement by introducing disputed point of quota in Lokpal.
Flatterers perhaps forgot that they were not alone in formation of the government but they are supported by other parties as allies and also supported by some parties from outside. Leaders of Congress Party, I say few flatterers who hijacked entire UPA and who showed as if they are the master of government in real sense have wilfully spoilt the fate of Lokpal. They did not think it necessary even to consult its allies on whose support government survives. Flattery actually leads to blindness. And this blind flattery led to fall of Lokpal Bill.
Lastly I would like to add here that Fight against corruption is not for a few members of Team Anna only , it is the demand from the core of hearts of all common men and it is mass movement supported by common men with a purpose to ensure quick punishment to corrupt officials and corrupt politicians.
