Dr. Abdul Kalam is a
undisputed and uncontroversial candidate for the post of President. Dr. Kalam
earned good image for the country within and outside the country during his
tenure as President of India. He is respected all over the country. He loves all
and always thinks for the welfare of the country and for people of India
without any bias on the basis of caste or community. He is
intelligent, talented, energetic and well reputed and renowned scientist. I
hope he will get support from all parties. It will be unfortunate if any party
opposes the candidature of Dr. Kalam for the post of President only because it
is proposed by BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party).
I have heard and seen an
important person of Samajwadi party saying that they are not going to support
any candidate proposed by BJP. Congress party said to be secular appears of the
same view as that of SP and they are not inclined to support Kalam as they did
last time when they presented Pratibha Patil to defeat a person like Dr. Kalam.
A person is good or bad depends on his market reputation, his skill and his
knowledge and not on the party by which he or she is associated with or by
which he or she is proposed.
If UPA does not
support Dr. Kalam for the post of President of India, it means that ruling
party is not interested for the image of the country and the party does not
give any weightage to the quality of the person. The main purpose of Congress
Party is always to blame BJP and always tarnishes the image of BJP, rightly or
wrongly, for right cause of wrong cause. This dirty policy of ruling party
perpetuated by Congress Party has never been in the interest of the country.
The habit of ruling party to select a defeated and rejected person for the post
of Governor or for that of President of India is not good and must be condemned
by all.
Parties should assess
the merit and demerit of the person and the proposal, and not oppose all
proposal and person merely because it emanates from rival party.
In my opinion Dr. Abdul
Kalam is the fittest candidate for the post of President of India.
